Jim Wesson is a motivating, humorous, and down to earth professional trainer, who uses realistic personal and professional experiences to deliver his dynamic messages. His sole focus as a professional trainer is to provide quality training and consulting services to agencies and organizations across this country.

Jim served as a Police Officer, Detective, Police Sergeant, College Instructor, Trainer, Director of Special Investigations, and Consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 25 years. His career has taken him through many aspects of public service with an extensive background in law enforcement, investigations, and training. 

During his 21 years as a peace officer, Jim held the rank of Detective Sergeant and specialized in the area of violent crimes investigations. In addition to his experience as a Detective, Jim served 15 years as a Hostage/Crisis Negotiator.  While working in these various positions, Jim developed many skills and techniques in managing conflict, reading and managing human behavior, and developing proactive strategies in managing communications and quality service, which he shares in his presentations.

Jim uses his unique and diverse personal and professional background to deliver focused messages to his audiences, which they can personally identify with. The realistic and visual approach to his presentations provides entertainment as well as solidifying the importance of the message.

During his carrier in law enforcement, Jim was recognized for his dedication to service, receiving the "Police Officer of the Year" Award on two occasions, and he was further recognized for exceptional service with a "City Council Citation for Bravery" in 1992. 

While working as a law enforcement officer, Jim attended several Universities and Colleges completing course work in; education, criminal investigations, crisis/hostage negotiations, supervision, management, computer sciences, and forensic sciences, with advanced studies in psychology, communications, and behavioral sciences.

In 1982, Jim earned a lifetime California College Teaching Credential and he has taught as an adjunct faculty member at two Northern California colleges.

Jim’s career in law enforcement, public education, training and consulting has given him the public service experience he uses to identify many of the needs and challenges incurred in the public service arena today. He works nationally with many organizations, providing quality professional consulting and training services.
